I pretty much fail because I’m only on page 14 of Madame Bovary. But in my defense, I am currently battling bronchitis, or what Lisa claims is swine flu (need MD confirmation on this), and I’m also taking a class called Econometrics. Do you know what Econometrics is? Because I don’t. The first sign that you might fail a class is that you don’t even know the definition of the title.

Speaking of really bad segues, I picked up The Last Song, which apparently just came out yesterday. Uncharacteristic of my unabashed Miley Cyrus fan self, I didn’t know that beforehand; I was at the mall and happened to see it on display at Waldenbooks. I’d suggest it for book club, but I don’t know how the Katieys and Lisa feel about Nicholas Sparks; so I think I’m gonna fly solo on this one.

I’m Lisa. I’m the only author of this website not from Georgia, although I did drive through it once on my way to Spring Break.

The first book I ever read was Green Eggs and Ham in preschool. My literary tastes have not evolved much since then.

My favorite book of all time is Little Women where I remain the only person in the world who sympathizes with Amy (and likes her more than Jo). Laurie agrees with me. Yeah, I went there.

Hi, I’m Christine, and I’ve been unsuccessfully trying to read The Picture of Dorian Gray for about 900 years.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Oscar Wilde. The thing is, I have a teeny problem that you might call “impatience” — it’s a disease that creates the compulsion to read the Wikipedia plot summary and/or Sparknotes plot summary of a book before reading the actual book. You can Google it, they’re researching it in medical labs everywhere. So I happened to read the synopsis of Dorian, and now that “OMGZ ~MUST KNO WUT HAPPENZ~” drive that would normally cause me to go hungry and sleepless until I finish the novel is gone.

I heard somewhere that something like over 90 percent of doctors use Wikipedia. Keep that in mind next time you go in for a checkup.
